(Received Sept. 30, at 9.35 a.m.) Major Roth, the Commonwealth representative of the New Caledonia Jubilee celebrations, lias returned. He says that French colonists are anxious to encourage with Australia the same friendly relations that exist between France and England. Trade with Australia 1 is capable of much expansion. THE WEATHER, Twelve inches of rain fell at Duiigog in eight hours. There was a phenomenal hailstorm at Lawson, the lwil being Ift deep. CHURCH UNION. The Presbyterian General Assembly has authorised union with the Methodist and Congregational Churches. THE OIMARA'S CREW. The Oimara's men, who walked to Newcastle, are much' knocked up. They camped at a farmhouse during tho i£glit.
