ANNUAL PRIZE FIRING. (Per United Press Association.) TRENTHAM, March 7. The morning opened very fine, but with a bad shade across the targots, and a light wind from the left. While the second squad wore shooting at the 500 yds rouge in the Nelson Match the wind veered round in puffs, disturbing most of the marksmen, and many shots went to the left of the targets. M'Knnzio (Oamaru) mado the only possible at this range. ' Hyde, with a possible yesterday attcrnpon, only scored 32. Tho Nelson Maxell closed witli Winslado still top scorer (91). Opaki No. 1 is leading, with 318 points, It wa3 calm during the firing, and good shooting was displayed. Lister (Christchurch) and Humphries (Taranaki Rifles) mado possibles at 500 yds, and Head and Hydo (Opaki) at tlie 200 yds ranges. The match will be completed on Monday, and will bo followed by (lw 7Coyds range of the Canterbury Malch. Morch 8.
