Mr.] George Fenwick, of the Ota-go Daily Times, j was elected chairman, vice Mr Brett, of tho : ] Auckland Star. The gathering waa -ho " largest ever held, the press from Auckland to Invercargill being fully represented. Tho annual report showed that during the year 1 there had been a * n-gc increase in t-lio volume of cable business, the number of i words received being 390,234, much in excejs j of any previous, Toeot-d. Tho'chairman referred in feeling terms to the death of Mr .J. L. Wilson. Tho director* of the Lyttel- j ton Times entertained the visiting presjmon at dinner. i . -4
