OTAGO LAND BOARD.

The regular meeting of the Otago Land Board was held yesterday, morning, there being present llessr9 D. Barron (chief commissionei), Clark, Dallas, and Kirkprtlriek. The board was requested as to how pastoral run section 23, block VII, Tftblo Hill district, passed in at last auction sale, should be dealt with.-Run to bo offered at an upset rental of £8 per annum. The AVcitaki and Waiherao County Councils forwarded statements of proposed expenditure of 'thirds" and "fourths" for period 7th October, 1902, to 3rd .Taimary, 1903.—Approved. '■Hie Receiver of Land Revenue forwarded a memo, in regard to coal base No. 1370, held , by John Willetta, section 7G, block VIII, Awainoko district.—Mr Wilictts to show causc why his lease should not bo forfeited for non-pay-ment of rent. Harry Birley, Mark Harris. John Stephens, and fames Wilson applied for a grazing license over the " Spit reserve," Upper Wakalipu district.—Granted to applicants in trust for residents of the locality. Neil Kicolson, president of tho St. Bathana Racing Club, wrote flaking that an area of about 100 acres on Kccnsu's run, St. Bathana, bo set aside as a rncccoursc reserve.—Held over for further consideration. Ranger M'Dougall forwarded an application from J. B. M. Tcmpleton to be allowed to erect a house and make a garden on reserve No. 2247, Makarora.—Granted. G. H. Paul wrote withdrawing his application for an occupation lease under "The Mining Districts Land Occupation Act, 1?91/' ove* 15 acres of Moutere run, Leaning Rock district.—Agreed to. The Town Clerk, Atrowtown, wrote stating that the approach to the Arrow footbridge was being blocked, and nskccl that the ranger bo sent to look into the matter.—Referred to ranger for report. John Ewing wrote in regard to application made by William Afills for an occupation lease under "Tho Mining Districts Land Occupation Act, 1604," over 100 acres on run 226, St. Bathans.—Received. The board considered the application by Martin Franklin to purchase 2 acres adjoining tho south-east corner of section 65, block VI, Tuapeka "West district.
