Mails close at the Chief Post Office, Dunedin, subject to any necessary alterations, as under:— Overland, North, daily, 10.10 a.m. Late letters. 10.45; also oil the mail van up to H a.m. Books and newspapers, 9.40 a.in. Late-fee letters must, bear, in addition to tha ordinary postage, Id. THIS DAY (FRIDAY), MARCH 0. „ For Lyttelton and Christchurch, per Moura, at- 2 p.m. MONDAY, MARCH 9. FEDERAL SERVICE. For Australian States (via Hdbart), Ceylon, Jnctia, China, Straits Settlements, Mauritius, South Africa, Mediterranean Ports. Continent of Europe, United Kiugdom, etc., per south express, at 8 a.m. Late letters, south express, at 9.5 a.m. Due in London April 15. Correspondence for the United Kingdom need not bo specially addressed via Melbourne. Money orders close at 1 p.m., parcels for the Australian Siales at 3 p.m., and registered letters at 5 p.m. on the 7th. NOTE. On the Ist March a post office will he ouened at Mr Minn's store, St. Leonards. Mails despatched and received twice daily. The nostago on letters for Australia, has been reduced lo one penny for each half-ounce or fraction thereof. Newspapers for the Australian Stairs (except Queensland, which is $d for every Son), one per.ny each.
