— ■■ —— TAHUNA PARK TROTTING CLUB. Second Day. The second day's raoing of the autumn meeting. of the Talmna Park Trotting Club was hold at Talmna Park yesterday afternoon, the weather not being so good as was experienced ' tho first day. About midday light rain fell, and had tho effect of preventing manv from going out to witness the first couple of races. During the timj these were run the attendance was only moderate, but as the afternoon advanced the weather improved very considerably, and by 3 o'clock was quite fine. This change induced many who had abandoned the idea of going out to the courso to alter their minds, and by the tiino the Telegraph Handicap was reached tho attendance was fairly large. Tho rain had not affected the track very much, and very good time was made under existing circumstances. The officials of the club arc to be complimented on tho smoothness that marked tile day's racing, and tho events were got off with as littlo delay as possible. In spito of this fact, however, with such a lengthy programme, it was pretty late before the closing event'of the day was run off, and a protest against the winner, Fleigher, kept investors about the course for some little time after. Pretty well all the officials put in an appearance, and those actively engaged in eontrolliii" the racing paid strict attention to their duties! Among the latter were Mr W. ,T. Gore (judge), Mr 11. J, Gourlev (starter), Sir E. Hogg (timekeeper), Mr J. Jeffs (clerk of the course), Mr J. 11. Wilson (elerk of tho scales), and Mr 11. L. James (secretary). Mr 11. Brinkinan (the handicapper) concealed the winners pretty well throughout the races, and some good dividends wero paid, notably in the Advance Handicap (i'lo 12s), thc.Telegraph Handicap (ill), the Iyanhoe Handicap (£ll 10s), and the Recovery Handicap (£7 65). Tho money put through tho totalisator amounted to i2!29, which is £216 under what it was for the second day's racing of last autumn meeting. The total for the two days was £51G6, the figures for last year being £0172, or £707 more last year than this. The St. Clair Pony Handicap was won rather easily by Vixen; Dusk being the favourite. Onelmnga was made a hot favourite Jor the Autumn Handicap, which he won comfortably. Teddy, who was by no means strongly fancied by investors, got home by three lengths in the Telegraph Handicap, the favourite, Yankee Doodle, not being heard of at tho finish. Cowboy had a hard tussle with FnirehiW 11, the favourite, in tho run homo in the Disposal Handicap. A good race was witnessed in the Telephone Handicap, in which a good class of horses faced the starter. In the last half mile Elector drew away, and 1 won comfortably from Sir Hector, who beat Boldrewood by three lengths for -second place. In tho Second Ladies' Bracelet Handicap Glendhu was caught by Stewardess coming into tho back stretch, and broke b'adlv, Mrs M'Kay's maro eventually winning from Koliuru, pulling up.
