NOXIOUS WEEDS ACT.
(Per United Press Association.) NEW PIjYMOOi'II, February 28. In tho Police Court this morning two farmers wora fined £5 and costs for ncgleoting to clear blackberry off their land, and one of them an additional £1, and costs, for ncglectm? to clcar away ragwort. The magistrate (Mr Stanford) fiiolcc strongly of the obligations of land-owncns to comply with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, and said that when notice was served by tho inspector, farmers must put on a gonj of monte dear tho land. Nothing else would satisfy him.
