MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.
The half-yearly meeting of Linden Lodge No. 5, U.A.0.D., was held :n the lodge room on Tuesday last. Theio was a good attendance of members. The balance sheet for the half year ending December was read by the secretary, and adopted. This showed that the funds were steadily increasing notwithstanding that over f3O had been paid in sick pay. The auditors reported.everything satisfactory. Tho election of officers resulted as follows:—l.P.A., Bro. E. Sunderland; A.D., Bro. C. Leslie; Y.A., Bro. B. Roberts; Secretary, Tlios. Sunderland (re-elected); Treasurer, Uro. I'. Farley (rc-elccted); 1.D.G., Bro. James Duff; 0.D.G., Bro. F. Clough; A.D. Bards, Bros. George Newman and J. Lloyd; V.A. Bards, Bros. R. More and W. A. More; G.L.R., Bro. T. Sunderland. Tho officers were duly installed by D.P. Bro. Hobbs, assisted by P.D.P. Bro. Ilariiiess, in a very ablo and impressive manner. Receipts, £5' 2s. The quarterly moeting of tho Mayflower Tent Juvenile Rechabites was held iu the Cargill Road Schoolroom on Friday evening. The Superintendent read the balance sheet, which showed the lodge to be ih a very satisfactory position. The following officers were elected and installed:—C.R., Bro.' C. Sparrow; D.R., Bro. C. Lear; Secretary, Sis. M. Lees; Levite, Bro. 11. Harvey; Stewards, Bros. A. Raiu and J. IXeppelthwaite; Guardian, Bro. W. Kennedy"; P.C.R., Sis. Farrant. .Superintendent Bro. A. M'lndoe, on behalf of the District Lodge, announced that Bro. P. Holland had gained the silver medal for introducing tho most new members during last year. The Superintendent also promised a prize to the member who would bring tho most this miartcr. Bro. Dowland (of Adult Tent) gave a short address. The meeting was closed by the C.R. with tho usual ceremony. The half-yearly meeting of the West Hnrbonr Lodge, U.A.0.D., was held in tho Council Chambers,: Ravensbonrne, on Thursday evening,' A.D, Bro.' Woodhousc in the chair. D.P. Bro. Hobbs,. assisted by P.D.P. Bro. Booth, installed the following officers for the ensuing term:—J;P.A., Bro. Woodhousc; A.D., Bro. T. Pope; V.A., Bro. A. Grant; secretary, Bro. David Latnach (re-elected); treasurer, Bro, Minn (re-elected); 0.G., Bro. W. Blackie;
1.G., Bro. W. Pearson; A.D. hards, Bros. Perry and Patterson'; V.A. bards, Bros. Partet and Osborne. P.A. Bro. Romeril (Otago Lodge) was appointed nominee of tho lodge for the position of District President, nnd P.A. Bro. Kellett and P.A. Bro. Osborne were appointed representatives to the Grand Lodge meeting. The secretary presented the balance sheet, which showed: Management Fund, £13; sick and funeral,' £670 15s; financial members, 75; full membership, 91. Receipts, £11 lGs.
