Major Taylor gave a splendid exhibition of sprinting ill the Centennial Mile, which he annexed in Imiu 5-lscc, Morgan won the Morgan' Plate, beating Don Walker after a fine finish. Time, llmin Usee. The privileges in connection with the Tuapeka County Jockey Club's annual race meeting were submitted to public auction on Saturday afternoon by Mr J. C. Arbuekle at his rooms, Lawrence, with tho following result: — Publican's booth, JE3S—J. Houlihan; race cards, £19—P. Slos.il. Tho refreshment booth and right to sell fruit, not reaching tho reserve, were passed in.
