SOUTH AFRICAN MEAT CONTRACTS.
(Per Uxited Press Association.) WELLINGTON. January 2. The South African meat contract expires oil March 31. Particulars of the new contract have been advertised. The colony's response is not yet ascertainable. The Premier is communicating with the officer commanding: in South -Africa and Lord Milner on.the .subject. The Agent-General is also in communication with the Colonial Office and the War Oliive, and has telegraphed . to the Colonial Secretary (Mr Chamberlain) with reference to the matter.
