A NO-CONFIDENCE MOTION

(Rceived Sept. 30, at 9.23 p.m.) As soon as the Assembly met the Premier, who had previously announced that he accepted all responsibility for the Attorney-general's action in regard to Friedman, who was released within 24 hours after a, sentence of 12 months had been passed on him, tabled papers in connection with the Mr Carruthers thereupon moved that the action' of the Government in the Friedman case is a breach of the principles underlying the system of trial by jury. On the Premier's motion, the House immediately adjourned.
