ALHAMBRA THEATER.

•&. Every seat in the Alhambra Theatre was occupied last night long before the curtain went up, and it is doubtiul if a more enthusiastic or appreciative audience has ever been seen in the Alhambra. During his two years' occupancy of this theafae'Mr Dix has presented his patrons with many notable vaudeville acts, culled from the leading music halls of England, America, and the Continent, but -it is generally acknowledged that he has never given us anything to equal Callahan and Mack. Their exquisite playlet,'" The Old Neighbourhood," is brimful of legitimate comedy, clever repartee, by-play, and intense pathos. It is rather a novelty to sea patrons of a vaudeville show with tears in their eyes, biit such was the case in many instances during Callahan and Mack's clever turn last night. " The Old Neighbourhood " would not be out cl $ace as a curtain-raiser with the Brougk Comedy Company. The language, the surroundings, and the perfect delineation of Irish character are worthy of a Lever or a Carleton. Miss Maud Faning, the clever impersonator, made her reappearance last night, and received a hearty welcome. All the old favourites were encored for their clever items, while the Coronation pictures by the vitagraph received the applause they deserved, as they are undoubtedly the best ■* "■"'''' "• pictures yet shown in DuEedin.
