OPENING OF THE ROWING SEASON.

Tli© sub-committees of the Otago Rowing Association who have charge of the details of the opening day procession are leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to make the function a success. The Mornington Brass Band have kindly consented to play selections on the tongue wharf during the afternoon. The boats will muster off the D.A.8.0. and O.R.C. boathouses at 2.30, and the procession will be headed by the marshal's launch. The Dunedin and Port Chalmers Navals' boats will follow directly in the rear, followed by the N.E.B.C. and D.A.B.C. eight-oar boats. His Worship the Mayor has kindly consented to declare the searon open. Given fine weather, the spectacle of the number of boats which each club can send out should be a very pretty one. The town, clubs intend entertaining their lady friends in their boathouse immediately after the opening function.
