(Received Sept. 2, at 9.19 a.m.) The match between a team of Players and the Australians was commenced at Harrowgate. The Players' team was as follows:—Vine, Devey, Relf, Washington, Quaife, Arnold, Killick, Llewellyn, Trott, Gaukrodger, and Tate. The Australians omitted are Noble, Kelly, and Gregory. The weather is dull, and showers delayed the start. The Players won the toss and batted, Vine and Devey opening. The former, when he had made 5, was caught by Darling. One for 15. Washington contributed 7, when he was caught by Armstrong. Two for 27. Devey had 35 to his credit, when he was run out. Three for 62. Quaife and Arnold kiade a good stand, and carried the total into the nineties before Saunders bowled Arnold. Four for 93. Without any addition to the score the same bowler captured Relf, making his hundredth wicket for the tour. Killick partnered Quaife, and they were still together at the tea adjournment. (Received Sdjpt. 2, at 4.44 p.m.) Killick was caught by Jones at point low down with the left hand. Six for 165. Llewellyn made a couple, and was out leg before to Hopkins. Seven for 175. Quaife, who played a good innings, was caught cleverly by. Saunders at cover-point, >the fieldsman falling over it. T ?ight for 175.
