(Pkr United Prkss Association.) AUCKLAND, September 1. There are only two or three troopers now confined to beds at Mofcuihi, tlic remainder being convalescent or completely recovered. The Auckland Hospital authorities issued tho following bulletin to-day:—Beattie, Hawksworth. and l Kerr still ill, though not strious; Parker is in a very eritieal state, amd the crisis is expected to l>e reached today; ,Manson, Blaeklock, ahd Shelloek are* all very ill, and no improvement can be reported ; other patients are making a satisfactory recovery; Webb is almost convalescent. WELLINGTON, September I.' Tho Montroae troopers landed to-day. AH the men. arc. in good health except Trooper Sands, of the Sixth Contingent, who has gone to the hospital for treatment of a bullet wound in the shin. A maetiDg of residents was held at the Rcslyn Council Chambers last evening for the purpose of deciding ways and means for welcoming returned and returning troopers belonging to the district. The meeting, although not a large one on account of tho inclemency of the weather, was ntioet enthusiastic, and it wae decided to hold a social and ball on the Istli of October at the Wakari Brill Hall. A Committee of Management, consisting of the Deputy-Mayor (Mr 1.. Kemnitz), Captain Washer, Messrs Haggitfc, Allnutt, and" Wilson, were appointed to arrange a programme for the- occasion. It was also decided to request the Kaikorai Bfftss Band to assist, nnd to ask the FriendlySociety of (ha district for their patronage. Letters were received from the elefgymen of tho district, Mr Robert Chishblm, and others expressing sympathy with the object and promising assistance.
