CHRISTCHURCH, August 29. At a meeting of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic' Association to-night, G. AV. Smith's record of 15 l-ssec for Die 120 yds hurdles was passed and recommended to the Australasian for 'i'ne report on the competition for the banner was ordered to be referred to the affiliated clubs. After a long discussion it was decided to ask clubs for an expression of opinion on the system oi centre government, r. motion in favour' of the system having been carried by seven to six, .the chairman lefraining from voting. The Wellington Club was asked to give a suitable welcome to Simpson and Smith on their return to tho colony by the Pttpatoa next Friday.

The Y.M.C.A. Harriers will be the .guests of Mis Love, Green. Island, this afternoon, and will therefore not run.ill conjunction with the Dunedin Harriers at St; Clair. There has evibeen a misunderstanding soinc-where. Tho Y.If.C.A. Harriers travel by the 2.10 train.

Mr Solomon wires from Christ-church to " Sentinel" that he has disposed of Muscovite for £250 to Mr Y. Harris.
