NAPIER, August 29. At the adjourned inquest on J. A. Wellington, who was killed through a truck running over him at Te Pute railway station, a verdict of "Accidental death" was returned. None of tho witnesses could state how tho accident occurred, but it would appear that deceased slipped on the footboard of the engine.

WELLINGTON, August 29. At the inquest conpormng tho.death of the boy Adam Hunter Brown, who died while being operated upon for an affection of the eyes under chloroform, the jury returned a verdict "That death- was duo to misadventure," adding a rider that the operating surgeon committed ail error of judgment in not having an anesthetist present.

WESTPOItT, August 29. Joseph Kennedy, 17 vears of age, was crushed by a runaway truck on the Millerton incline. His leg was broken, and he received internal injuries. His recovery is doubtful.

i HOKITIKA, August 29. « dusk last night a man walking along tho South B.caeli, four miles from hero, saw tho body of a human being in tho surf. He recovered the remains, which proved to be those of an elderly man, partly dressed, and apparently bald. The head and face wore somewhat disfigured. The body was later identified as that of John Grey, an old man working below Mikonui, .south of Boss, who has been missing since Sunday. It is believed ho has been drowned while attempting to cross the river on foot when the stream was in slight flood, but no particulars arc to hand.

Glcdhill was found tj bo quite dead, tho truck having fallen on him, while Kennedy was severely injured and was conveyed to tho New Plymouth Hospital..
