WELLINGTON DOG SHOW.

WELLINGTON, August 29. The sixteenth annual show of the Wellington Kennel Club was opened to-day by Lord Ranfurly. There was ah excellent show of greyhounds. Cocker spaniels were a fine lot, probably tho best over exhibited in Wellington. Collies were fairly strong, but mastiffs and Newfoundlands have gone from bad to worse. M Donald s Ruapehu, winner of the maiden bitch class for collies, was a particularly good animal. In smooth-coated and boarded collies the judge could not see his way to make an award owing to want of'quality, lerriers wore fair all round, but most were wire-haired. Fox terriers were over sized. Bulldogs were fair. Tho following are winners in the open and challenge classes:— Greyhounds, Leslie's Advance; English setters, Sinclair's Wanganui Ranger: Irish setters, Sinclair's Hero II; Gordon setters, Mrs Rowes Ruby Twist; cockers, Lover, sedgfts Papanui Rufus; field spaniels, Daness Drawn Blank; collie dogs, M'Dona'da Makaraka Ranger:' collie bitches, MDonalds Miss Marvel and Horrax's Hempie (equal); fox terriers (dogs); M'lntoshs Maes Toa; bitches, Wareham's llixie; Irish terriers. Hendrieksen's Tiger; Airedales, King's Ilobson's Choice; bull terriers. Bailie's Ctesar: bulldoSs, Wick ; ham s Idalo; bitches, Waller's Vanity. Sinclair's Irish terriers were first for the sporting team.
