CANTERBURY v. TARANAKI.

A DRAWN GAME. (Per U.vited Press Association.) ; NEW PLYMOUTH, August 6. The fourth intcrproviiicial football match Canterbury v. Taranaki was played to-day in the presence or WOO persons. Taranaki kicked off, and Canterbury kept control of the game almost from the jump, though the Taranaki forwards at first made a> few rushes, which were soon upset. Towards tho end of the .spell O'Douda and Glenn started a forward rush, but a knock-on spoiled the chance. Phillips got the hall from the serum and started a passing rush, assisted by Wood and Gray, who passed to Mathews. The latter crossed the Taranaki line, but was splendidly tackled by 1 ookes, and ho.'lost tho ball, Humphries forcing. Shortly after Turtill (Canterbury's full back), who was playing a magnificent Same, got in a beautiful drop at goal from half-way. The ball just went wide.
