A FATAL FIRE.
TWO BOYS BURNT TO DEATH.
Late on, Tuesday ; night a fire broke out in a. wooden dwelling owned and occupied by Mr John Roy at Wairunn, near Clinton, and two little boys, aged six and eight years respectively, sons of Mr Roy, were burnt to death.. It Bppear3 that the family were asleep when the. fire commenced, and consequently tho flames had a good hold before 'the inmates of tho house were awakened. The lire spread rapidly, and by the time the others reached the open air it was impossible to obtain entrance to the room whore the two little, boyi were sleeping, and the,y perished in the flames. The constable at Clinton wired to Inspector O'Brien last evening to tho effect that the fire was accidentally caused. The house was insured in the South British office for £150 and the furniture for £50 in the same office. The inquest lias be.en' fixed for Friday morning, and in tho meantime the charred remains of the boys have been removed to the residence of Mr Roy, sen.
