(Pur United Phess Association - .) STRATFORD, August. 6. At ibe annual meeting of the Nalicnal Dairy Association held here a resolution was passed protesting against income tax being levied on the whole dairy factory machinery, and urging that if' it be not, removed 10 per cent, be allowed and no tax charged on depreciation. Tho meeting approved of tho present method of branding boxes for export, considered that any modification would be prejudicial to the best interests of ihe dairy industry, and recognised that the high position of New Zealand' produce in the Home market is due principally to' the present system of supervision mul branding now in force iti tho colony. On the motion of the president (Mr flarbiew), it was resolved that the Government be urged to appoint a grader in the Home market to inspect colonial produce.
