HARBOUR BOARD REPORTS.
The following are the reports to be submitted at to-day's meeting of the Harbour Board:The finance Committee reports having received 25 tenders of JE.14.30a for the £150 D of 5 ptr cent, consolidated debentures, and aeccptfd "'f h 18 at £112 10a, and 27' at £110 10s Gd. a total of £5009 3s Cd at a preminjn of foOD Ur 6d, making the average price £111 !>s 3 y> d. Ihey recomtaendod the passing of accounts amounting to £J?SO 83 4d. the "Works Committee report having passed accounts amounting to £3950 Ss 4d. The Secretary and Engineer (Mr T. H. Rawson) reports a3follows:-" Dredging: The shoal ground below pile No. 1G is just about cut through, when I propose to dredge from pile i\o. *•. to J3, where n gradual shoaling has been taking place. When this is removed Ihcrc will be a minimum depth in tho Victoria channel of 17ft at low water, with long stretches of from 18ft to soft. During the month of June 222 dredged mads, or about 26 300 cubic .yards, which were deposited by the Vulcan ard pumped into the lUvensbourne reclamation at a combined cost for wagc-3, stores, and repairs of 9d per ralr.e yard. Retaining wall at Pelichet Bnv: Crood progress is being made with this work, unit nbout three months should see this completed. linking tongue wharf: This veiy nccessary work is completed. Many of the old planks were found to be very thin, and quite unsatejor heavy drays. Road metalline: The lower jetty strc-et, from the cross wharf to tHs tongue wharf, has had a coat of broken metal si.'.Tord on n . n d lower llattray street, below' lenses- street, w.lwing meklied. Tho cross wharf street is also being metalled hv tho City Cfivporatinn, the Railway Dcparlment and the board each contributing one-third of the cost"
