MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.

The usual fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Hand and Heart Lodge, No. 4355, M.U.1.0.0.F., was held in the lodge Toom, Stuart street, last Tuesday, n large number of membors being present. N.G. Bro. R. E. Crawford presided! After a considerable amount of correspondence had been read and dealt with, the new handbook for the Otago District, M.U.1.0.0.F., for the ensuing year, 1002-3, was given out: and, besides giying very detailed information about all the lotos in tho Otago District, shows that the Handbook Committee worked very hard to make.the social functions in the various lodges m groat a success as they have proved during the past year. The.handbook can now bo had on application to the permanent secretary c-t the lodge 0:1 lodge nights, and is entirely free of charge. One new member wt« duly elected «nd initiated. The lodge then went into harmony, and closed with tho usual formalities. Receipts, £5S IGa Id. The regular meeting of the Antidote Division, Sons and Daughters of Temperance, was held on Monday evening in the Chor.-.l Hall, Bro. W. 1' acor, W.P., in the chair. After the usual Djismess had been transacted, piano solos were given by Bro. end Sis. Crawford. Pino-bong was also indulged, in by the members, tho older ones especially taking a keen interest in the gtme. One candidate was initiated into the order.
