POST AND TELEGRAPH TRANFERS AND PROMOTIONS.

(Fir United Trues Association.) WELLINGTON, July 29, A large number of promotions and transfers have been arranged to take effect immediately in the Post and Telegraph Department. The chief postmaster at Blenheim (Mr John Bull) retires on a pension, and will be succeeded by Mr Northeroft, at present postmaster at Tiiuranga. -Mr Haliid:iy is to be promoted from Balclutha- to the postmastership at Tauranga, and Mr White (postmaster at Bulls, Hangitikei), goes to Balciutha. Mr Ashton, senior clerk and operator at Itolorua, is to be promoted to Bulls, and the senior clerk at Masterlon (Mr Turner) is to be transferred to llotonia. ilr JS. IJ. Cork is to ho transferred froni Oamani to MustGrfoii. Air M'TliUchosoii, chief clerk at tho G.P.0.. Christchureh, replaces Mr Stevens at the Thames, -Mr Steveiw having been promoted to Nelson. Mr J. J. Greene, who has been temporarily attached to tho C.1'.0., Wellington, becomes postmaster at Port Nelson. Mr A. 1). (Jlomctt, now slationed at Mougcnui, becomes postmaster nt I'oxton, replacing Mr MacDormott, transferred lo Waiinate, South Canterbury. Mr I>. p. While, postmaster at I'eimika, is transferred to '.Marlon. Mr (.'. t-i. Woon, senior mail clerk at WanKuinih becomes chief clerk at Nelson: whilst Mr C. A. Scynour, senior operator at Nelson, takes charge of the telegraph branch.
