PRESENTATION.
A number of the police met in the Police Library last night for the purpose of making a presentation to Mr E. D. Mosley on the eve of his departure tp Cromwell, In tho absence of Inspector O'Brien, the presentation was made by Sub-inspcetor Dwyer, who in a. few words congratulated the recipient on his promotion, but at tho same time regretted his departure from Duncdin, whore the relationship oxisting between him and the police was of the most cordial nature. In his transfer to Cromwell no doubt the Justice Department had a keen eye to the future, and wished Mr Mosley to extend his experience in one or two directions so as to fit him for a. higher sphere— a placo on tho lqagisterial benches of the colony, a place which one and all must admit he was eminently well fitted to fill. Mr Mosley very feelingly replied, thanking the police for their very thoughtful present, and also for the very cordial relations that existed between himself and them during his stay in Duncdin. He trusted that the same feeling would continue with his successor. Tho present con-" sistcd oi a beautiful travelling bag, suitably inscribed.
