NOTES FROM TUAPEKA.

(Pnou Our Wethkkstones Correspondent.) July Sl.-The Local Industry finished their paddock last Saturday afternoon for a return qi- 230z for the week, it being a fine sample of bright coarse gold. There is a probability •of their getting another Ooz or more out of the jet hole and the dirt pipe to-day. This totals 770z since June B. I Mr T, Sing Lee lias commenced a- hydraulic claim a mile or two below Lawrence. His water race heads on the hill opposite Lawrence, where I understand, he lias a traction engine stationed pumping the water from the creek up into the race. I hear it works very well. However, they had only gone out a few miles when they met the water coining in, so they turned back without regret, as it was bitterly cold.
