(Pnou Our Wethkkstones Correspondent.) July Sl.-The Local Industry finished their paddock last Saturday afternoon for a return qi- 230z for the week, it being a fine sample of bright coarse gold. There is a probability •of their getting another Ooz or more out of the jet hole and the dirt pipe to-day. This totals 770z since June B. I Mr T, Sing Lee lias commenced a- hydraulic claim a mile or two below Lawrence. His water race heads on the hill opposite Lawrence, where I understand, he lias a traction engine stationed pumping the water from the creek up into the race. I hear it works very well. The Golden Crescent was ready for elevatm* again on the evening of the IGlh July. Their water being off somewhere in the race, all hands went out next morning to see what wa3 wrong. However, they had only gone out a few miles when they met the water coining in, so they turned back without regret, as it was bitterly cold. ' The Golden Rise parly have been unfortunate with the electric light, which Ims broken clown Some part of the Pelton wheel broke, being either made of bad material or there bchi" a flaw in the casting, It has been returned'to the maker. i
