FIRES.
(Pin United Phess Association',) AUCKLAND, July 24. A wbare near Netherlon, occupied by James Richmond, his wife, and their two children, was destroyed by fire. The inmates were awakened by tho roof of the Whare falling in upon them, the building being in a blaze. Mrs Richmond manajot to got out .with.the infant, and Mr Richmond saved the little boy. They were all badly burned excepting the infant.
WELLINGTON. July 24. Herron's eabinetmaking workshop was gutted by fire at 12 o'clock last night. Insurances: £200 on the machinery and stock in the South British; £200 on the building in the Manchester.
ASHBURTON, July 24. . Information has just been received that a fire occurred by which ft house recently occupied by Mr S. Lurd, near Ashburton, was totally destroyed on Wednesday evening. There was no insurance on the building, which was the property of the County Council. The house was an old one, and Messrs Brown and MaeDonald, builders, had just taken timber to the place to repair it. This wis also destroyed by fire.
