PORTOBELLO ROAD BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the Portobello Read Beard, held on Saturday, v/as attended by Messrs TV. Dickson (chairman), ilnoandrew, Hinkley, North, Bacon, and Seaton. Mr Nordgren ashed the board to supply him with some stono tor a culvert which was damaged by the late flood, nnd .which leads to his dwelling, lie would do tha work himself. Granted. The inspector, reported on the complaint in connection with the pollution ot a creek at Portobello, nnd stilted that the water'was quite clear He therefore Eaw no cause for the complaint It was, resolved that, in the face ot the report, tho board could not interfere.—Mr Meac wrote asking leave to remove come rotten loci at the road at Wavcrlcy. Declined.—Mr Adair Francis wroto asking'for metal for Mh walk Matter, to stand over till next' meeting.—Witl: reterencc to the proposed now road througl Mrs Wilson's property to the Camp road, a; there wcro several preliminary matters to bs attended to, it was loft in the hands of Mc3sti Hinkly and Bacon, who'will report at tho nexi meeting.—Mr A.
