Wales, and stated that his purposo "\ Canterbury wsw to purchase fodder'forthe New South Wales Government, ■ He obtained advances of money, and left for Wellington, where lie was arretted. under the name of Baird by Detective Cassels. Accusal wns sentenced to six months'on each charge (cumulative), tho magistrate remarking that it was one of the most impudent robberies lie had heard of for some time.
