AN IMPUDENT IMPOSTOR.
. (Per United Press Association.) • ■ OHRISTOHURCH, July 1. At (lie Magistrate's Court thjt morning i W, A. Suitor was charged that on the 9th of Juno ho'fraudulently obtained £10 from H. lilatson and Co. by means of a valueless cheque; and lie was.also charged with obtaining £5 by the same method from E.' G. Stavolcsym.lna.gor of the New Zealand ]<o?.n and Mercantile Agoncy Company. Suttor represented himself in Christelmrch as the son of the Hon. F. B. Suitor, New South.. Wales, and stated that his purposo "\ Canterbury wsw to purchase fodder'forthe New South Wales Government, ■ He obtained advances of money, and left for Wellington, where lie was arretted. under the name of Baird by Detective Cassels. Accusal wns sentenced to six months'on each charge (cumulative), tho magistrate remarking that it was one of the most impudent robberies lie had heard of for some time.
