■ II Tlio success of the Pollard Opera Company's season was fully maintained till the Inst, and no greater testimony to the remarkable popularity of tho company could bo desired tlmu the fact that on the closing niglit of a live weeks' season the theatre contained an audience sueli as any theatrical manager might envy. Every available seat in the building wa3 occupied before the curtain lose; chairs blocked the passages, while many were content to stand throughout the whole of the performance. Tlie management thos: to stage "La Poupce" with which to brmg a succcssf'isenrio" to a dose, mid the choice was a hsfipy one. Mr O'Connor's voice is scarcely robust enough to adequately treat the music falling to the part of Father Maximo, but he got ou very well, and the audience signified its approval accordingly. Mr Carter as Lancelot did excellent work, and adapted himself to the part of the " timid and modest" novice in a way that was at least convincing. Mr Percy as Ilihirius was the life of the performance, and credit is duo to Mr Quealy as Loremois, Jliss Joaunie Ramsay as Henri, Miss Alice Pollard, and Miss Mctcaif (or the support they gave the principals. The matinee performance, of "Tho Messenger Boy" given 111 tho niternoon was well patronised. The company go north to-day.
