The Taieri Advocate states that a'man named John Slattefy had hta right arm badly lacerated from tho wrist to the elbow on Friday while outting the Hoop-iron binding on a bale ef bags at Islington farm. Dr Allatt found it necessary to put ill 18 stitches. Information reached Masterton on Thursday that a. youhjj man named William Ealph, 20 years of age, had been killed by a iall of earth in a gravel pit about six milei from Eketahuna. i-
