MIDLAND RAILWAY COMMISSION.

WELLINGTON, February 1,

The Midland Railway Commifsion, who are to inquire into the claims of debentureholders for compensation for seizure of the line, held their first sitting in Wellington this morning. It was decided to admit the press to the sittings, of which the next will be held on Mondav. when counsel for the Government (Mr H. D. Bell) and for the receiver (Dr Findlay) will be heard.
