PREMITIVE METHODIST CONFERENCE.
». (Per Uxitki) Pjiehs Association'.) AUCKLAND, January 16. At the Primitive Methodist Conference it was with regret (he delegates learned of the death of Mr Philip Roberts, of Wellington. A telegram conveying condolence was directed to be sent. The conference acceded to the request of the Rev. W. Woollass, of Fnxton, for one year's rent; also to the application of the Rev. P. W. Jones, of Feiidiixr, for superannuation, and directed that the matter be sent to the English Conference. The afternoon session was devoted to consideration of legislation sont from various stations, the greater part of which dealt with mission work in Africa. It was decided, in order to carry on more aggressive work in the larger centres of population, to institute an order of lady helpers, such as the Sisters of the People. In the evening the conference soiree was held, and addresses were (riven by the Revs. W. C. Woodward, B, Hall, aiid S. Henderson.
