H.JI.S. MONARCH LANDS MEN AND GUNS. LONDON, January 4. Two thousand Boer prisoners have been transferred from G rv-" Point Simonstown to transports.. This allows 1000 troops to procccd north. Tho warship Monarch lias landed her bluejackets and guns at the Cape. These will take tile place of the troops who Were guarding the Boer prisoners, and who were recently sent to the north. January 5. (Received January 6, at 5.30 p.m.) Two of the naval guns commnrtd the approaches to Capetown. The others are being sent inland.
