AMMUNITION SEIZED A l !' PAARL. L'ONDON, January 5. (Received January 6, at 5.30 p.m.) The Cape Post Office department is raising 600 men, the Railway department 500, and tins Workmen's Association 100. Since' the special appeal was inade 1000 have enrolled. A quantity of ammunition has been seized at Paarl in the hands of sympathisers with the invaders. Sir Frederick Carrington, who is at present operating towards the Swaziland border, is expected to procccd- south. One thousand men are enrolling at Vancouver for General Baden-PoVrell's South African police.
