The directors of! the National Bank of New Zealand have declared an interim dividend for the half-year ended September 30 at the rate of 8 per cent, per annum, payable on and after January 7. ~ Messrs Thomas Pateraon and Co., Manse street, report having held two most .successful strawberry sales on Saturday, 22nd mst., nncl on Monday, 24th inst. Saturday's prices were as .follows":— AVaimate Marguerites, on behal. of various growers, ranged from 9d-to lljd per lb. Monday's sale was even more successful, and competition was very keen from the fact that supply was not equal to the demand, and that-Messrs Thomas Paterson and Co. held tho bulk of fruit to band. Prices on behalf of the following growers were as follows:—A\ ainiate- Atwll, V.H and 9Sd; Buckingham. ]0d to lid; Reynolds", 10!, d; Bishop, Did; Hardy, 2s and 2s 3d' per 31b pottle. Locally-grown: Matthews and Sudden (Broadacres), Is Od to la lOd; Young (Brighton), 2s Id. Teviot: Hiscock (Marguerites), Is 3d to Is 9?, d; Malcolmson (Paxtons), Is 9(1. On the whole prices were very satisfactory to growers, and Messrs Paterson and Co. have this year made a record in prices and quantity sold.—AcM.
