Eighty of the North Island Maoris who have been taking part in the Jubilee celebrations left for their homes by the Hinemoa to-day. One hundred and ten of the Northern Natives will remain till after the New Year.

Canterbury College Board of Governors the subcommittee appointed to report on the subject of university extension lectures recommended that such lectures be initiated in Timaru, Ashburton, and other localities where deemed desirable, and thnt in view of the special difficulties provision be made in the Estimates of next year for a grant of £100 to fairly launch the movement. The board adopted the report provided funds are available.
