INVERCARGILL, December 21.
Brookes and Heatley. the rsco.ped prisoners, were before Mr'M'CVtliy,'S.M.. today. His Worship said that there had been nothing in the misconduct of the accused lisyond the attempt to cscana and being found in possession of a loader! firearm, the purpose of which might have been solely to provide food. The accused, who it was stated had used no violence, were sentenced to simple confinement, without irons, in a light cell for 15 days.
