THE CHORAL SOCIETY.

TO THE EDITOR

Sib, —May I be permitted through your columns to offer two suggestions to the Choral Society? The society's performance of the " Messiah" is advertised for Christmas Night. Now, a certain section of the public have engagements on this-night that will prevent their attendance. Cannot the society, therefore, see its way to repeating the performance a few nights later, giving the public a further opportunity of hearing Mrs Howie in oratorio? And, secondly, in the event of such a second performance, would not the society think it well to do as they did a year ago, and reserve seats on the payment of an extra sixpence?— I am, etc., A Loveii of Handel's Musio. Dunedin, December 13.
