The garrison at Utrecht, not far from the Natal frontier, having several guns, repulsed an attack by a larger force of Boers.

DEATH OF A BOER GENERAL.
LONDON, December 14. (Received Dec. 15, at 6.37 p.m.)
General Lord JMetheim marched from Ottoshoop to Zeerast, capturing 200 cattle and 1000 sheep, and destroying stocks of grain.
The Boer genera], Lomner, was killed at Ottoshoop.

The Boers, 10 miles from Standerton, near the Vaal River, derailed .some trucks on the Natal-Pretoria railway. The troops prevented them capturing the supplies.
December 15.
(Received Dec. 16, at 4.30 p.m.)
The Boers removed four waggons of produes from the Riverton road station, which were unprotected. They burned the goods and destroyed the railway line.
General Louis Botha, with 1500 men, is near Standerlon.
