Messrs Dalgety and Co. (Limited) report having held their usual weekly auction saie on Monday, when the attendance of buyers was fairly good.

Oats.—We offered a small catalogue •of medium to good oats, but owing to want of competition had to pass in the .most of the lots. We quote: Milling (Sutherlands), Is IOJd to ls llcl; good to best-feed, only saleable in small lots at from ls 8d to Is 9d; fair to medium, ls 7.Jd to ls Sd (sacks extra). Wheat.—Prime milling still 'meet,s with a steady demand at late rates, which are: Prime velvet and Tuscan, 2s 5d to 2s G.d;'red sorts, 2s ad; medium and second class, 2s 2d to 2s 3d; fowl-feed—good whole, 2s; -broken and inferior, ls Od to Is lOd (sacks iv). Potatoes.—Tho market at presont is overstocked, ar.d sales aro difficult to effect at a reduction on last week's rates. Prime Derwents, 37s Gd to £2.

Chaff.—Supplies to hand this morning aro very heavy, and prices have in consequence cased. Prime brings from £2 15s to £3; good, £2 12s Gd; medium and inferior, £2 2s Gd to £2 10s.

Messrs Donald Reid and Co. (Limited) report that prices ruled as follows at their auction sale On Monday: —

Wheat.—Prime milling samples of all sorts are in good request, and sought after at late values; if anything, prices are hardening a. little. Medium and fowl.wheat.are in slightly better demand at values fully up to those lately ruling. We quote: Prime milling,' 23 Sel to 2s GJd; medium, 2s 2d to 2s 4d; whole iowl wheat, ls lld to 2s; -broken;-etc.;-Is-Pa to Is lOd per bushel (sacks, in),.
