The imports into the colony during December quarter amounted in value to £2,4-00,460, including £117,515 of specie, as ■ against'-£2,lß7,4-06 for the corresponding quarter of 1898. The exports for the December quarter were valued at £2,763,537 (not including the valued of horses, forage, etc., sent to the Cape, with the contingent), against £1,953,610 for the-' December quarter of 1898. The total for the year was £11,933,335, against £10,517,955 in' 1898.
