Gordon Webster, which had caused him to resign his connec-, tion with the church. They expressed~high appreciation of his personal character and valuable services during ~12 years, both to his p\vn church and the. colonial church in general, and'their earnest hope was that he may so recover as to be able to serve thechurch in the old land. ■ A vigorous discussion followed the presentation of the temperance report, and the assembly unanimously expressed their gratification at the . progress of the'iioi:. license movement, as shown at the last local option poll, and adopted the recommenda-' tidn that a. temperance sermon be preacheel in November. _ .
