SALE OF A CENTRAL OTAGO FARM AT BECKS.
Messrs Wright, Stephecson, and Co., Dunedin, report as follows:—We held 'a clearing sale at Mr John Harley's farm at Becks on Friday last, which turned out to be a very successful one. The farm, comprising about 1180 acres, more or less, being sections i, 5,8, and 9, block V, of the Blaekstone Survey District, was offered first, and was 'sold in two separate farms. The goddwill of and improvements on .sections 8 and 9 were offered first, and were ■'knocked down to Mr William 'Armstrong at the sum of £325. , The homestead block, comprising sections 4 and 5, was then offered, 'and, the improvements and fencing being in capital repair, bidding was keen, and resulted in Mr John Clouston being the lucky purchaser at the sum of £450. The crop was'then offered, but was withdrawn, and is still for sale privately by Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co., Dunedin. The stock and implements were then offered, and met with good competition, which tended to make the sale a very satisfactory one throughout.
