RUSH FOR LAND.

(Pee United Press Association.) : BLENHEIM, August 19.

There, has been a great rush for the land in the Richmond Brook and Starborough estates, which the Government recently acquired for the purposes of close settlement, and for sections in the township of Seddon. Applications closed at the local Land Office yesterday. ■ In all 1058 applications were received from 195 persons. For the 10 sections at Richmond Brook, ranging in extent from 191 to: 594 acres, and a small grazing run of 1437 acres, there were 44 applications from 40 persons. For the suburban sections at Starborough, of which there were 12, ranging from 46 to 169 acres, 304 applications were received from 52 persons. For the sections in tho township of Seddon, of which 116 were offered, there were 710 applications from 103 persons.
