The return from the Macrae's Flat dredge foT 259 hours' dredging is 13oz 13dwt 2gr. Owing to a large stone dropping out of the face and breaking the port cheek of the bottom tumbler the dredge has stopped for repairs, which are expected to be finished this week.

Mr George Sievwrighr, secretary of the Cromwell Dredging Company, reports that the dredge pontoons are now nearing completion, and will be launched in a- fortnight. The machinery is now well forward, all "the heavy portions (including ladder, etc.) being, now atthe claim. No time will be lost in "the erection of the machinery, which is expected to arrive by the AVaikato.

In the Western Australian Government Gazette for May, the gold yield for the month of April is given. The alluvial yield amounted to 57770z; dollied, lOOSoz; and 96.491 tons of ore were treated, yielding HS.WOoz, or an average of loz 4dwt 14gr pc, ton of ore treated. At. £i per ounce the yield of gold for April in Western Australia exceeded half a million sterling.
