NAPIER, June 20.
Mr M'Lean, M.H.R., in addressing his constituents,; said they had now a State bank/and any Minister could go and see what the state of a man's banking account was. Mr Tegetmeier, general manager of the. Bank of New Zealand, by order of the directors, writes to the Hawke's Bay Herald saying that if tlie remarks are meant to apply'to his bank he is directed to give them an unqualified denial.'
