A POLITICAL ADDRESS.

NELSON, April 17.
Mr Graham, M.H.It., addressed a crowded -meeting of electors to-night. Replying to Mr Duthio, he wished that gentleman speedy recovery, and said that ho only opposed his politics. He went very fully into financial questions, and quoted to prove, that. Mr lhitluc was wrong, and also pointed out errors in the Evening Post relative- to the interest now payable by tho colony, which, lie showed was lower by nearly a quarter of a million lust year than when the Government came into ollicc. He rjuofod to prove that tho revision of the tariff had benefited local industries, and that the cheap money scheme had largely benefited artisans and the colony generally. He quoted the Hon. Mr lilake's (hiding in the Midland railway arbitration to show that tho company had not been wronged, and complained bitterly that ovei five million acres of land was being locked up through the com-pany'-s default in not completing the contract. On tho motion of Mr Pitt, Mr Graham received a. unanimous vote of thanks and confidence.
