GRAIN AND PRODUCE REPORT.

Messrs Wm. E. 'Reynolds and Co., Bond street, report for the week ending 12th April, as follows:— ' . .

Wheat.—Market remains without alteration, and we quote:—Prime velvet 2s Gd, Tuscan 2s -Id, and fowl feed (sqarce) 2s for best. Oats are a shade weaker, aud outside demand not encouraging, forward sales being undertaken at very low prices. To-day's prices we givo at ls -Id for Sutherland's, Is 3Jd prime sparrowbills, and good feed'ls 2Sd to ls 3d (ex rail). ' Barley is likewise dull, though good br«ht

samples • command attention at up to 3b 3d, ordinary 2s 4d to 2s 9d, milling and feed:'- Cd to 2s. Potatoes continue to be worth £2 2s Gd to £2 ss. Chaff, if quality is prime, sells readily at £2 12s Gd to £2 15s, other sorts from £2 to £2 7s 6d.

Mr A. Gillespie Reynolds reports for the week ending 12th April, 1899, as follows : — Oats are in fair demand, but prices arc too high as. compared with the Bluff, consequently sales are limited. To-day prices are: Prime ls 3id to ls 4d, good ls 3d. inferior no inquiry. "Wheat is slow of salo ut up to 2s 6d for prime velvet. Chaff.—The inquiry for prime is good, and pareelß may be quoted at £2 15s to £2 17s 6d, good up to £2 12s Od. Potatoes are easier, and demand moderate. Prime Derwents up to £2 2s 6d, choico £2

Barley.—-This market is scarcely opened yet. So far tho demand has been for choice and prime samples only. Other lines are neglected, owing to plenCy of medium offering from Christchurch- at very, low figures and much below what farmers expect locally. Choice Lakes may be quoted,-at up to .la Gd, prime up to 3s 3d, really good 3s, medium no inquiry at above 2s, Gd. . I have buyers for all classes of grain and produce and solicit,samples and consignments.
