MUNICIPAL CONTEST.

TO THE EDITOR.

Sir. —In a recent issue of your journal I noticed an amusing letter from an anonymous correspondent, advising the electors to vote against Mr Christopher for Leith Ward vacancy in tho City Council, merely because ho is a young gentleman. His.speech is attacked ; but I ask any candid elector to compare tho clever speech of Mr Christopher with the poor production of the old candidate. Judging from tho speeches on the day of nomination, I beliove tho electors will give Mr Christopher an overwhelming majority of votes.—l am, etc., An Ancient Critic. Dunedin, December 10.
